National Creators Award - an event to remember

Where should I begin?

It still looks like a dream for me that I was there. Yes. I'm speaking about the #NationalCreatorsAward which is the first of its kind in the world. This is an initiative by @mygovin which is doing lot of innovative things in various fields.

I had applied and completely forgotten about it. Few days ago, I received a call from the landline wherein the caller says he is calling from the office of Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of Railways, MEITY & Communications checking for my availability of the program which was due on Friday & I needed to be present on Thursday in New Delhi. I immediately agreed. That same day, I received an official communication from IRCTC asking for my details. I had filled it up. Applied for off in my office and on Wednesday, I received ex my flight ticket details. Flight was on Thu noon from Chennai Domestic Airport.

I reached airport well before the designated time and met my friend who is an IB officer there. After having a hot cup of coffee, I proceeded for check-in and boarding. I landed in Delhi around 5:30PM and at the exit entrance, I was welcomed by the IRCTC team who was co-ordination with others and arranging accommodation. I was given an accommodation at The Alpino Hotel which was bang on the main road - Mahipalpur which is just 2.5kms from the airport. Room was super good. In the mean time, I met few creators CA Shubham Maloo, Sandeep of Telugu Travel Vlogger, Mitesh Patel of MeetPoser, Cooknjoy among others.

Tasty dinner was arranged in the hotel. After venturing out for an hour with CA Shubham, I returned to my room and retired to bed since we were told breakfast will be served next day early morning. I was given a call at 4AM mentioning breakfast will be served at 5AM and bus will arrive by 6AM. After having tasty breakfast at 5, we boarded the bus which took us to Bharat Mandapam inside Pragati Maidan. In the bus, I also met Neha and Ishita Sharma.

We followed the protocol as advised since the event will see the presence of PM himself. After collecting the pass at the entrance which took some time, I proceeded to the Plenary Hall. Since I was one of the first to enter, I sat just behind VVIP/HODs row.

PM entered the hall at around 10:15PM and one could feel his aura and the electrifying presence. He was given a roaring welcome. After settling, PM distributed award to the winners including beerbiceps, aiyyoshraddha, technicalguruji , curlytales and others. His presence of mind was amazing as he kept us captivated until he was there for little over an hour.

We were dropped back at hotel post the event and I had to rush up since my return flight was booked at 5:15. In the flight, I had also met couple of educators - An HOD from Dept of Geography and The Principal of an arts & science college. I landed in the airport at 8PM.

Felt truly blessed and my heartfelt thanks to the GOI, IRCTC and all the officials who made this event a memorable one for few hundreds of creators.

Eat Right, Stay Fit with Saffola Fittify

Life has become a fast-paced one. We hardly get time(at least during the weekdays) to prepare some good and healthy food or one that could complement it. What we eat may not give us all the nutrients essential for our daily life. This is where the renowned Saffola from Marico comes into the picture. I was browsing casually and was stunned to see that this popular FMCG company has launched so many products which would help us without compromising on taste and quality. I decided to try a few of their products, to start with.

We all need to have a quick and tasty breakfast in the morning. I usually prefer bread toast since it is easy to prepare and eat. Hence I ordered peanut butter. Even in this, there are few varieties and I zeroed in on Saffola Fittify Original - Omega 3 - Peanut Butter - Extra Crunchy and Saffola Fittify Tasty - Dark Chocolaty - Peanut Butter - Extra Crunchy flavors.

As we all know, peanuts are a rich source of protein. I must admit that it tasted really good. My day has begun with a healthy breakfast.

Then comes lunch. For this, I decided to have something which is rich in fiber. For this, I zeroed in on Saffola Fittify Hi-Protein Steel Cut Oats. I also added some dry fruits and cherries to it so that it tasted really good and delicious. Just make a note that it would be good if you soak these oats at least 30 minutes prior so that it becomes soft and helps you to cook with ease.

For the evening, I packed some salads. To make it more wholesome, I sprinkled some Saffola Aura Extra Virgin Olive Oil on top of it. Olive oil is a good source of various vitamins and has anti-aging and anti-inflammatory properties.

I finally end my day by mixing the Saffola Immuniveda Golden Turmeric Milk Mix in a cup of milk. As we all know that turmeric is anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, and has so many other goodnesses packed in it.

I found my way to lead a healthy and happy life. You may check here to see the range of products Fittify has to offer that make you healthy as well.

Desi Street Chennai - A must visit restaurant in Anna Nagar, Chennai

What a lovely afternoon to spend time with my Sis and my Brother-In-Law.

We decided to go out for lunch and zeroed in on @desistreetchennai which is situated very close to Chintamani, Anna Nagar (@googlemaps will show you the exact location). We reached the restaurant by 1pm and parked our 4 wheeler. We started with Chicken Soup which was served hot. It was spicy but tasted really good and was a perfect fit on the prevailing weather on this day. Then we ordered VadaPav. I wouldn’t know how the authentic one would taste but this is no less to that in any way. Then it was Chole Bature. I would say you shouldn’t miss it. I would give 5 ⭐️ to this without giving a second thought. Then it was fish tikka followed by lemon roast chicken. Both were cooked to perfection. The best part about the chicken was its tenderness. It melted in our mouths. Spices were used at the right proposition. Do not forget to taste this with mayonnaise sauce. It is too good to resist. We then got Chilli 🌶 Prawns 🍤 which again tasted divine. We then ordered Chilly Cheese 🧀 Garlic 🧄 Naan and Lachcha Paratha with Butter Chicken 🍗 gravy. This was followed by my Butter 🧈 Chicken 🍗 Biryani. I must admit that despite looking so spicy 🌶, the taste was stupendous. Their cost which otherwise seems to be high for this dish is justified considering the portion since 2-3 people can have it. It was served with delicious Raita. We finally signed it off with Desi Street Sundae on a Sunday. This is also something you shouldn’t miss. Overall, we had spent a little over 2.5 hours which is worth it considering the ambience inside which was soothing and the attitude of the staff which complimented it coupled with great food which tasted really delicious. If you want real tasty veg or non-veg food, you know where to head over to #DesiStreetChennai

Diwali with BeeTee's Melt Chocolates

What comes to your mind, when it is a festival?

Chocolates!!

This is a widely sought after product as it brings in the mood of celebrations. Sweetness removes the bitterness and also makes all at home, irrespective of the age or gender to fall in love with it,

I usually buy sweets always, when there is a festival. Diwali is the most favourite festival of mine and hence sweets finds its place compulsorily in my list. This year, along with sweets, I also wanted to buy some chocolates for my family. As I was searching online, I stumbled upon BeeTees website and decided to give them a try.

Before going into my experience, let us see some interesting facts about the Chocolates.

1. Aztecs used cacao seeds as a form of currency.
2. The first chocolate bar was invented in the year 1847.
3. Chocolate Milk was invented in Jamaica.
4. Brussels Airport is the World's biggest chocolate seller selling over 800 tons of Chocolate a year.
5. Chocolate industry is worth over US$110 billion a year.
6. As per the International Cacao Organisation, an average Brit, Swiss or a German eat 11kgs of Chocolate a year.
7. It takes the whole of one year's crop of one tree to manufacture half a kilo of Cocoa.
8. During the Aztec reign, a slave could be bought for 100 cocoa beans.
9. The first Cacao trees were found in the Amazon basin and the Venezuelan and the Colombian Andes.
10. To make a single pound of chocolate, 400 beans is required approximately.

Now, let us come back to the experience of mine tasting the Melt Chocolates.

Why did I zero in on this?

There are few reasons which attributed to this.

a. This brand is ISO 22000:2018 Certified.
b. They have FSSAI Certification.
c. They also have GMP(Good Manufacturing Practice) Certification.

With an impressive shelf life of 12 months, these bars contain 48% Milk Chocolate, 54% Coconut Milk and 72% Dark Chocolate(As I bought three unique bars). Major ingredients are Cacao Beans along with Brown Sugar and Cacao Butter.

Chocolates with higher Cacao content are believed to strengthen the heart and lower the risk of heart coronary disease.

Packing:

These three bars came in a neatly packed insulated box with cooling gel pack inside it. Hence when I refrigerated it and opened it for consumption, I did not see any change in the shape or size. Also, each of these chocolates were wrapped with golden/silver foil papers twice(around the circumference) unlike the normal ones where you get to see the chocolate as soon as you remove the golden foil.

Taste:

I must admit that it was beyond my expectations. I could feel and taste the rich sense of Cacao which lingered in my tongue for good few minutes eve after I finished consuming the bar. To conclude, this is a Premium Chocolate with an extraordinary taste which makes you feel that you have had consumed the World Famous Belgium/Swiss Chocolate, here in India.

P.S. I am keeping the boxes and the foils as a souvenir.

Offers:

Though there is a 10% off on purchases above Rs.999/-, or this Festive Season, the brand is offering 15% Discount. Hurry and place your order. Do not forget to check my favourite BeeTee's Melt 48% Milk Chocolate
