Book Review - The Lost Woman Of Santacruz

Title - The Lost Woman Of Santacruz
Author - Vijay Medtia
Genre - Fiction(Thriller)
Publisher - Leadstart Publishing Pvt Ltd
ISBN - 978-9354387654

A perfect murder thriller that would keep you hooked from the beginning till the end. This is the Inspector Ajay Shaktawat series. His character is alluring and the narration set by the author would make to fall in love with it, over and over again. He is married to Nisha and has two kids Priya and Pratap.

He had a troubled marriage since he could not spend much time with his family owing to work commitments. On the other hand, his ever-demanding mother keeps reminding him of his elder brother Mahesh who is a bank manager and earning handsomely.

There are other characters you need to remember which includes Smita Kaur, an attractive tenant who stayed with his mother.

At the workplace, he has:

Constable Yadav

Shinde, Rahman - S.I’s

Dubey, Pandey - Traffic PC’s

Anil Mishra - Forensic department

Pooja Dixit

DCP Parrikar

ACP Rohan - Special branch officer from Delhi

The story starts with the gruesome murder of retired DCP Chandra. This is followed by another murder and this time, it was retired Sub Inspector, Jaspal Kambli.

While Ajay Shaktawat tried his best to unsolve the mystery, owing to pressure from the press, media and public, ACP Rohan is pressed into the investigation.

They try to untangle the case through various angles but hit a dead end.

Who murdered the cops?

What is the motive behind the murder?

Did the culprit commit any further murders?

To me, reading this book was like watching the series "Crime Story" as it was interesting till the end. All the characters were used in a meticulous way and the narration was interesting. These aspects kept the story intact and since this is a series, this book has already evoked interest in me to wait for the next release.

If you love thriller coupled with crime, this book is just for you. Go for it.

This book is available on Amazon as an ebook at INR150 and Paperback for INR299.
