A brilliant and thought-provoking story from Santhosh. I have read and also reviewed his previous books. This book has exceeded the standards set by him with his earlier books. The cover page itself is so beautifully done which conveys deep meaning. Though this is a story, the author says that he is inspired by some real events. This is certainly a delight for the readers because the way in which this story unfolds would make you retrospect.

This is all about a father writing a letter to a son. You may ask what is so special about it. This is where the real story lies.

Ramji, an affluent businessman from the US comes with Sadhus (Amrut Baba, Nithya Baba) searching for Vishwa in a fishing hamlet called Kudi.

Why?

He writes a letter of advice to Karam.

By now, you would have realised that this story is happening in the hamlet. The way, Santhosh narrates the story is so gripping. It sends you a lot of powerful emotions which you should comprehend with.

Here is something I liked and producing it as it is:

““Next time, don’t get the fish cut to know its freshness. Just look at its eye. If it’s, clear then you are clear. Look at its scales, if they’re bright, then you are right. Look at its gills, if they’re not red, then you must dread. Look at its body, if it’s not firm, then you must reconfirm.””

The same Vishwa says "If you’re blind, smell the fish. You should smell the sea".

Ramji’s gesture with the old lady is a tearful moment.

Moments with Kayal by Vishwa is beautifully narrated.

After the demise of Gangadhar, Vishwa’s uncle, the responsibility falls over him and how he takes it forward is the story.

The story has all sorts of emotions beautifully stitched together and presented to us. It includes all that could happen in real-time.

There is another passage that I liked in this book and is given below:

““Planting trees is not for damage control. It is man’s way of showing gratitude to nature for the free oxygen, water, and free food he gets through it. Secondly, chemical pollution near the sea is more dangerous, as it can destroy the micro-life ecosystem in the sea, which can absorb more carbon dioxide than any tree can ever do.” Amrut Baba spoke in a measured voice.”

In the end, the story throws us a real surprise which would make you feel good about the lead character and most importantly that you have spent your time and money in the right way.
