Is TATA Tiago NRG here to rule the road?

I was pleasantly surprised when I received the invite from TATA Motors to check on their new release TATA Tiago NRG. For those who aren't aware, I am associated with TATA Motors for almost 10 years now where I had received invites whenever they launched their new range of vehicles starting from Nano up until Nexa.

The showroom had an impressive line-up of most of the TATA Motors vehicles which included Safari, Nexon, Harrier, Nexon EV to name a few. Since I was invited to check out on TATA Tiago NRG, Let us go through that.

There is only one version in this model which is Petrol and has dual variants- Manual and AMT. 

This is a Toughroader designed for urban roads. Let us take a look at the Front and the Rear and also the Interiors:

NRG is nothing but the short form of ENERGY. The vehicle comes with an armoured front design and has a ground clearance of 181mm. There is a muscular side cladding with unique squircle wheel arches. If you notice it closely, the grille sports a Tri-Arrow pattern. There are front fog lamps that come in handy during cloudy seasons.

Coming to the rear and side features. The vehicle is equipped with a Piano black ORVM. It also has a muscular tailgate and striking hyper-styled wheels.

The hatchback has ABS with EBD and CSC with dual front airbags as a standard one. It also has a rear camera with dynamic guidelines. The vehicle is made up of a fortified cabin which gives the ruggedness and strength. All these have made them bag the coveted 4 Star Rating in the Global New Car Assessment Program(NCAP)making it the safest car in its segment since its competitors have received only 2 Stars.

The vehicle has charcoal black interiors and has cup holders in the central console. I loved the fabric seating which gave a superior look to the vehicle which also gives ultimate comfort.

There is a digital instrument cluster. There is a cooled glovebox with tablet storage. There are high contrast side air vents. This vehicle has an impressive 242 Litre of boot space. 

On the dashboard, you also find a 17.78cm Touchscreen Harman Entertainment. With an 8 speaker surround system and a built-in Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, you are never behind entertainment.

There are steering-mounted controls. Other features include:

1. Follow Me headlamps

2. Auto Fold ORVM

3. Push-button start with Keyless entry

4. Tilt-adjustable steering

5. Flat bottom steering wheel

6. Height adjustable driver seat

7. 1.2L Revotron Engine

8. 5-speed manual transmission

9. Advance AMT transmission

10. Retuned suspension to name a few.

There is a standard warranty of 2 years or 75,000Kms whichever is earlier.

Manual - Rs.7.78 Lakhs

AMT - Rs. 8.37 Lakhs

I loved the looks and the features. I have not had an opportunity to test drive. Hence I would not know about its actual performance like mileage, maneuvering, pick-up, sound but I feel that TATA has yet again come out with a fully loaded hatchback which gives the features of an SUV which would surely appeal to the Young Gen.
