Honda India Foundation strengthens its skill development commitment in Haryana

Constructs a new building for Skill Enhancement Centre at Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Uchana Khurd

 

·         With Haryana’s fourth center at Uchana, Honda Skill Enhancement Centres now at 49 across 19 states

·         Equipped with state-of-the-art training facilities, center to provide practical training on two-wheelers maintenance & repair

 

Uchana, 12 March 2022: Committed to Skill India Mission, Honda India Foundation (the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of all Honda group companies in India) in association with Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Uchana Khurd today inaugurated the newly constructed building of Skill Enhancement Centre in Uchana. Spread across 1200 square feet, the new center operational from today will empower local youth with job-oriented technical skill training in the city.

The center was inaugurated by Sh. Dushyant Chautala - Deputy Chief Minister, Government of Haryana in the august presence of Sh. Amarjeet Dhanda (Member of Legislative Assembly, Julana), Sh. Ramniwas Surjakheda (Member of Legislative Assembly, Narwana),  Sh. Manoj Kumar (IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Jind), Sh. Rajesh Khoth (Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Jind), Sh. Ravinder Chahal (Principal, ITI Uchana Khurd),  Sh. Saibal Maitra (Vice President – Corporate Social Responsibility, HMSI), Sh. Sharad Pradhan (General Manager,  Corporate Social Responsibility, HMSI), Sh. Rajnish Charandas Mittal (Deputy General Manager, Customer Service  Technology & Customer Relations, HMSI) and other dignitaries from Haryana Government and HMSI.

 

Speaking on the inauguration, Sh. Dushyant Chautala - Deputy Chief Minister, Government of Haryana said, “I thank all the representatives of Uchana and the young trainers associated with the Skill Enhancement Centre for this development. I extend my gratitude to the management of Honda for skilling and providing their latest two-wheelers for practical training on maintenance & repair. I am also happy to share that the first 20 vacancies for the center in Uchana got filled on the first day itself and more students want to join this program. I am confident that such training will enhance the techniques of our local youth and make them more efficient with all the latest technologies including the recent BSVI engines.”

Keeping this as a priority, Honda India Foundation has inaugurated its fourth Skill Enhancement Center of Haryana. The newly developed center in Uchana is a testimony to our commitment to upskill local youth and enhance their employability.”

 

Honda India Foundation’s Skill Enhancement Centre at Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Uchana Khurd has a fully functional workshop with two-wheelers, service infrastructure, and latest tools & technology that gives hands-on training to students on technical aspects of two-wheelers maintenance and repair, and empowers them with recruitment opportunities at two-wheeler dealerships across India.

Honda India Foundation’s CSR initiatives in the field of education and skill development

Fulfilling its corporate social responsibility, Honda India Foundation (HIF) has taken several initiatives in the field of education & skill development. Empowering youth with livelihood-oriented vocational courses (beautician, electrician, hospitality management, etc), HIF has trained 15,000+ students. HIF has also provided infrastructural support and promoted digital literacy for the qualitative education of students. To bridge the gap between the requirement and availability of trained manpower in the automotive sector, the foundation has set up 49 skill enhancement centers across 19 states in India. These include Haryana (Uchana, Panipat, Rohtak & Gurugram), Delhi (Malviya Nagar, Jaffarpur & Nandnagri), Odisha (Balasore and Cuttack), Punjab (Ropar, Bathinda, and Patiala),  Rajasthan (Kota & Jodhpur) Uttar Pradesh (Kanpur, Meerut & Prayagraj), Madhya Pradesh (Khargone, Satna, Jabalpur, Bhopal & Ratlam), Bihar (Patna), Telangana (Hyderabad & Sircilla), Karnataka (Mysuru & Mangalore), Kerala (Palakkad & Kozhikode), Uttarakhand (Dehradun), West Bengal (Kolkata & Asansol), Gujarat (Rajkot, Gandhinagar, Sarkhej, Ankleshwar & Vadodara), Tamil Nadu (Chennai, Madurai, and Sivagangai), Chhattisgarh (Bhilai), Maharashtra (Amravati, Pune, Nasik, Dhule & Palgadh), Andhra Pradesh (Vizag & Tirupati) and Assam (Guwahati) benefiting over 3,000 students.
