Empires aren't built overnight. This is apt for almost all the major brands which have fought the tougher tides during their earlier days and have grown really big. No brand is an exception. I have always wondered as to what made "Aachi Masala" successful and how the idea of floating it by a former salesman of Godrej has borne the fruit. This has prompted me to pick this autobiography and I must admit that I was thoroughly impressed as to how the idea was germinated and the struggles the founder has to go through including pledging his wife's mangalsutra.
The book shows how a boy from a small village (Nazareth) had an ambition to grow big which has prompted him to take various steps including cycling to his favorite college which was 16kms away from his place. That's 32 km two-way, daily.
I loved the way, the book was written. It is in simple language but at the same time conveying the message in a much more powerful way opening up the struggles this man has to face as a kid and a young adult which at present has led to giving employment to a few thousand employees.
How the idea of leaving a well-paying job to start his own venture with a humble Twinkle Blue and how he made it accepted by the storekeepers who once rejected it is a big lesson. The references of a few successful entrepreneurs and the story behind it coupled with references from his teachers who are in their 80's now are the icing on the cake.
His reference of Parth and Rathore who came as a god send angels to help him when he was in distress is commendable because not all the successful business icons do this, once they grow BIG! This book would surely serve as a guide to those who are struggling and wanted to make it big. I would surely recommend this book for a betterment and change in your life.
