The mindset of people during those times especially at the outbreak of war was captured beautifully. This showed how the women who were left behind while men went to war and what they probably would have done were explained beautifully.
Hailing from Ustarakarnika clan, Mitrajit's village was headed by Aparajit who was a kind man. Kumudini was his spouse. Then there is Chitraangad whose wife Subhadra considered Purna as her own daughter. Arochan was their son.
There was a beautiful conversation between Mitrajit and Purna which showed the pros and cons of being a part of a Kingdom.
There were various other clans that existed during those times including Pulindas.
In the end, Aayusha gives an undeniable suggestion to safeguard Devasthana. What was it?
The disadvantages of war were explained in detail in this novel which shows why war should be avoided at any cost which seems more relevant to the present day as there is a war happening between Russia and Ukraine. No amount of compensation can bring back the lost life. Wars are fought for various reasons like protecting the boundaries, and the interest of the ethnic/community to name a few but none of them could ever justify the outbreak of the war. After finishing reading this beautiful novel, I am eagerly waiting for the sequel - Janya Bharata : The Deluge.
