1. What motivates you to write?
First of all, I love storytelling, there were so many stories flowing inside me that one day I thought I would bring them out into words. That’s when I started writing. Secondly, my main motivation that keeps me writing is my daughter. It would give me immense pleasure when I see my book in her hand. Lastly, I want my writing to inspire my readers, to make a change in their life.
2. How did you feel after publishing your books?
I feel really happy about it. It was only after getting my second book out there that it actually sank in that I became an author, and it’s ecstatic.
3. What are some of your favorite novels and authors?
I was always a fan of simple writing mainly fiction and adventure-type novels. I loved reading Harry Potter, Famous five, Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew, etc.
4. What inspired you to write the books(in general)? Any tales to tell…
I am basically a person who hates routine life, so as I mentioned before one day I just thought to pen down the story I had in mind, I never started out with an intention to publish it. Rest was like destiny it just kept happening.
5. Looking back, what did you do right that helped you break in as a writer?
Since my college days, I only had one goal, to become a successful entrepreneur. I had tried multiple ways and failed but my aspiration kept me moving on and it just happened, writing was never on my mind it was never planned, it just went with the flow.
6. Any best piece of writing advice that you would like to share with new or struggling writers?
I would say, no matter whoever says whatever, just trust your instincts. Nothing is impossible, anything and everything has a solution.
7. Any future books that you would like to discuss now?
Yes, Pentias is a saga, there are a few more novels coming up, especially in the Silandrian series. Currently, I am working on Part 3 which is named, for now, Pentias – The Flaring Heart
8. Do you write the story at a stretch or do you take your time to complete it? If you take a longer time, wouldn’t you be forgetting the story? How do you tackle it?
I take my time, but I make sure I write at least half n hour a day. Regarding forgetting the story, that doesn’t happen as I already plan the whole outline of it and then proceed with writing, although I do face writer’s block sometimes.
9. Traditional or Self-Publishing? Why?
I prefer self-publishing as it is faster and there is not much difference now between both actually. I feel, that whichever way we choose the end result depends on the quality of the content.
10. How is the response so far for the book?
So far I have received overwhelming responses, especially felt great knowing young adults found Pentias – Master of the Elemental Jewels really entertaining and they are comparing it with HP and Famous Five; I got many positive responses.
