Redefine your commute with Ather 450

When I was invited for the pre-launch event of the most sought Ather450, my joy knew no bounds. I am not new to the eBike. Back in 2007-08, when I was in Bengaluru, I had couple of eBikes from different brands and I had my own advantage and disadvantages.

Ather Energy was founded in 2013 by the IITians Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain. After USD95 Mn funding from Hero MotorCorp, Tiger Global, Sachin and Binny Bansal(Flipkart - on different occassion),they developed their brand to what it is today.

The brand has R&D Centre, Manufacturing Facility, Battery Assembly Unit, Prototype Lab, Experience Centre(the one which is coming up on KNK Road, Nungambakkam woud be thrice the size of theirs in Bengaluru). Apart from this, they have Public EV Charging Network, 2 Intelligent Electric Scooters with 51 patent applications, 11 international patent applications, 127 design registrations, 113 trademarks.

Warranty - 2 Yrs/ 30K Kms for Vehicle and 3 Yrs/Unlimited Kms for Battery
For charging at public points, it is free for non-Ather vehicles till Sep 2019 and for Ather, it is Dec 2019.
The cells are aged equally. Real time data is available with the brand and hence they can send updates and recommendations(if subscribed)

The vehicle is the brain child of Team Ather which has integrated most of the advanced features that is available in the market as of today.

What is my experience and take on the vehicle?

I thoroughly enjoyed my ride. It was as smooth as a breeze. Sock absorbers are good. There is no sound, literally. I handled it without any struggle. I toggled between Eco and Sport Mode while riding. I also got messages from the team on my speedometer. I do not see any improvement that is required as of now.

We have always had a debate when it comes to the topic - "Is studying abroad a boon or a bane?" The ideas differ from person to person.
