UPES announces ‘NEST’, a first-of-its-kind Alumni Nurturing Program with lifetime placement and career support

New Delhi/Dehradun, December 21, 2022: UPES, a NAAC ‘A’ accredited multidisciplinary university has announced an ambitious Alumni Nurturing Program ‘NEST’ with the aim of extending its support eco-system and resource base to the graduated student. As the ‘University of Tomorrow’ that believes in the power of creation and dissemination of knowledge and skills, UPES has designed ‘NEST’ where the alumni can return for mentorship, entrepreneurship, and lifetime placement support. Under ‘NEST’, UPES alumni can benefit in four distinct areas:

  1. Skills: Upskilling avenues for the alumni in various courses including Deep Tech, the Metaverse, Digital Transformation, and Leadership and other programs.
  2. Careers: UPES is amongst the first universities in the world to offer lifetime placements and career opportunities to alumni.
  3. Incubation: For Alumni who are keen to make a mark as entrepreneurs, UPES’ start-up incubator, Runway, will run 5 incubation boot camps specifically for them.
  4. Higher Education: For the alumni interested in higher studies, UPES will offer 50% scholarship for their Master, preferential allotments for sponsored PhDs, and up to 35% special scholarships at its partner universities.

UPES has set up a special team to assist the alumni in their job transitions, create numerous networking opportunities for them and assist them in personal branding.

Commenting on the launch of NEST, Dr. Sunil Rai, Vice Chancellor, of UPES, said, “UPES is more than just an institution to obtain a degree. It is a place for young minds to grow and establish lifelong, personal, and professional connections. Our students are a significant part of our community and even after they graduate, UPES wants to ensure that they are succeeding in their careers. The introduction of ‘NEST’ is to assure our students that UPES will always remain a safe haven for them and that we are always there to support and empower them.”

Explaining the objective of NEST, Mr. Sharad Mehra, Chairman, HERS, UPES, said, “I am happy to launch NEST, a special initiative for UPES alumni that is aligned with our vision and purpose as the University of Tomorrow. The world is ever-changing and what is new today might not be relevant tomorrow. We want to create a space for our alumni where they can come back to upskill and develop themselves, empowering them and ensuring their success through knowledge.”

UPES supports over 22,000 UPES alumni that live and work around the world. The dedicated staff and alumni volunteers help manage more than 10 UPES Alumni Regional Chapters that meet periodically for various events.  UPES alumni also contribute forward by way of mentoring existing students and as special guests on advisory boards and other committees.
