Vijay, an actor who was launched by Director S A Chandrasekar in the late 90’s had a turbulent start. He could not give major hits though his movie revolved around commercial aspects. He use to sing a song in each of his movie. It is around this time, Actor Vijayakant gave life to Vijay by acting in one of his movie. Vijay’s mother Shobha Chandrasekar was a Singer. Vijay lost his younger sister when he was a kid and had remembered her always.
Vijay got the title Ilaya Thalapathy which later became and Thalapathy. He was one of the top paid actors in India in the film industry with his remuneration going upto ₹200 crores. There were few controversies as well like he failing to pay import duty for his ultra expensive Rolls Royce, showing lesser income etc.,but those never dented his image.
He is liked by youngsters in general. He had had issues in releasing some of his movies. Unlike his counterpart Actor Ajith who went ahead to dissolve his fan club, Vijay converted that into a party. He was joined by leaders from various parties including KA Sengottayan, Bussy Anand, JCD Prabhakar, Aadhav Arjuna, V S Babu to name a few.
While many predicted Vijay would win anywhere between 1-20, only one poll tracker predicted Vijay would get between 120-150 which seems like a reality. He has emerged as a dark house cutting into the votes of traditional Dravidian Parties since public wanted a change.
Will he be an able administrator?
Will he be unbiased across religion and faith?
Only time will tell…
