Book Review - Million Muskmelons

Title – Million Muskmelons Author – Dr. Parag Mahajan Genre – Non-fiction Publisher – Notion Press ISBN – 978-9353612740 Elon Musk is a big personality. His image and his work is going to stay here for long. He is the one man who can single handedly change the future of this planet Earth. Look at his business endeavors and the outcomes, you have to believe the incredibility of this man. Recently, I stumbled upon a book named ‘Million Muskmelons’ by Parag Mahajan. I took some time to finish reading it, as I got really excited to see the list of companies/startups being taken up by Mr. Musk. It’s a business book written to inspire others. Topic by topic, the author, who himself is a MD, covered what all is happening in and around Mr. Musk with reference to AI, Solar power, interplanetary transport, Hyperloop, climate change, and electric cars. Other than Musk’s achievements and list of companies and his behavior with the world, the author also managed to cover the fa...

Book Review - The God of Sex and Gold and rock 'n' roll

Title - The God of Sex and Gold and rock 'n' roll Author - Utkarsh Mohan Genre - Contemporary Fiction Publisher - NotionPress ISBN - 978-1-64587-938-1 I am not going to put up my usual kind of a review for this book since this isn't the usual story. It's been ages since I have read the contemporary fiction. Hence there is no wonder that it appealed to me the most. Again, this isn't the statement of exaggeration but the fact that Utkarsh has done a splendid job in penning down one of the best stories in the recent times. Let me talk about the author to start with. There are few who excel in writing a non-fiction and few in fiction. These are the common genres under which hundreds and thousands of books are printed each and every year across the globe. On the other hand, this particular genre is unusual. When I say unusual, what I mean is that most of the authors do not venture into this usually for the fact that it isn't easy to write one...

PartyLikeInSG event by VisitSingapore

It was a memorable evening for all of us. From Mixology Master Class to Rap performance by Andy Lim & Yung Raja, the event was organised in a picture perfect way. People went crazy when Yung Raja performed. His energy was on a different level. (There are more videos on my YT Channel) Many socialites and influencers/bloggers were in awe with the entire program. Highlight of the evening was the sneak view of song from the movie Thalapathy which was sung by the legendary singers SPB & KJ Yesudoss in Singapore. You will be in awe when it is unveiled next week. I also had an opportunity to speak & interact with the officials from Visit Singapore team including Mr GB Srithar, Regional Director - South Asia & Middle East & also the Hon.Consul General of Singapore. Met few celebrities as well. The program was well planned and executed. The USP was clear. Singapore has always been a preferred destination for the Indians...

Book Review - Dalal's Street

Title - Dalal's Street Author - Anurag Tripathi Genre - Fiction Publisher - Olive Turtle(An imprint of Niyogi Books) ISBN - 978-93-89136-15-9 A super fast story that would keep you on your feet from the start to the finish. To begin with, I liked the cover page which is as good as the story. The cover page also gives the hint about the story or at least the characters involved in it namely Varun, Devika, Pooja and Anil. The book talks in great detail about what exactly is happening in the Fund Houses, Investment Banking, Stock Market Exchanges and the role of the fund managers who manipulate the figures at their will and wish. Who else other than Anurag Tripathi could pen it better since he himself was an investment banker once. The story talks in great detail about the power and influence of money in the day to day operations which manipulates the stocks and figures by keeping the unsuspecting investors at bay. The story begins with Varun and his friends De...
