Food Review - Carribean Paradise Food Festival at Barbeque Nation

Barbeque Nation is hosting “ Carribean Paradise ” food festival. First & foremost, you get to have your Parking FREE (upto 2 hours) if you’re visiting the Barbeque Nation. Do make a note! What I liked the most was the ambiance. It was changed completely to give a feel of being in Carribean. Staffs were friendly & at your service with a smile, as always. Coming to the food: Though they have a wide variety, I ensured that I would taste a small portion of all that comes under the menu. I was not disappointed. Each dish tasted unique & I knew for sure that these were not from Indian cuisine. A warning to you. You would get lost with sheer number of dishes. Hence it is better to make a decision well in advance as to what dishes you wanted to have, so that you can avoid disappointment 😊 This food festival ends on 23rd Feb 2020.

Food Review - Revamped Menu at Broken Bridge Cafe

It’s a revamped menu at the Broken Bridge Cafe, MRC Nagar. I checked in this noon with a good friend of mine & was pleasantly surprised with the menu. Yes. It is revamped.  What do they have to offer? They have everything which would satisfy your taste buds - be it a Vegetarian or Non-Vegetarian. We ordered Pineapple Rasam to start with followed by Peri Peri Chicken & Zafrani Prawns Kebab. This was followed by Saffron Pulao & Plain Naan along with Punjabi Fish Curry as main dish. We also had Lemon & Mint, Watermelon & Basil Cocktail (Mojito). Ended with Nutella Custard with Maltova Crumble dessert. I must say that the taste was Vera level. It is highly recommended if you love fusion or food that is really tasty & satisfy your taste buds with impeccable quality. Do not worry! They have their signature dishes like Curd Rice Fritters. Hence you can visit them, if you are still particular about some of their signature dishes...

Book Review - Myla Insurrection

Title - Myla Insurrection Author - Arjun Rao Genre - Fiction(Thriller/Suspense) Publisher - NotionPress ISBN - 978-1-64805-741-0 I finished reading this book in one go. You may ask what big deal about this? This is a 316 page book. Considering the size of the paper and the content, it would very well cross 400 pages, if it was printed in a regular size. By the way, I do not know as to where to start because this book is surreal. I could see the character - the Protagonist - Myla living in front of my eyes. As soon as I finished reading this book, there was just one thought that ran in my mind. This story certainly commands to be made into a movie - preferably in Tamil to start with and the lead role would perfectly fit for either Amala Paul or Andreah Jeremiah.  What is so special about this book? Firstly, it is the character. We only find a story line, once in a while, that gives prominence/importance to a female lead. Arjun Rao just did that. His prota...

Book Review - We Are The Champions

Title - We Are The Champions Authors - Rashmi Bansal & Devendra Tak Genre - Non Fiction Publisher - Bushfire Publishers ISBN - 978-81-931821-3-0 Rashmi Bansal needs no introduction. She is one of the leading authors of India whose books have sold more than 1.2 million copies. Her books were always inspiring and appealing. When I saw this title, I was deeply intrigued because I have read lot of book which talked about invention and innovation, achievements etc., but I felt this was something different. Yes,the book talks in detail about the achievements of the kids from across India, not just 1 but by 15 different kids. Devendra Tak is the co-author of this book. I do not think there would have been any other person who could have done a proper justification to the title and the content. Together, they both have produced the inspiring and appealing true contents of these amazing kids who have fought their own battle to emerge as achievers in their own accord. ...

Book Review – Seeking Greens: The Lost Trident by Mishthi Arun

Title – Seeking Greens: The Lost Trident Author – Mishthi Arun Genre – Historical Fiction Publisher – Notion Press In my opinion historical fictions are great books to enjoy the time and eras that we read in the books or see in the movies. Seeking Greens: The Lost Trident is a double-titled novel by Mishthi Arun. It’s a historical fiction, spanning between two famous civilizations of the world – Indus Valley Civilization and Mesopotamia. Since the timing in the novel is of before Christ BC, it’s exciting to read the story and know the peculiarities and taboos and ethos of that time. The story is long in terms of visualization and significance. However, the novel just stands up to 150 pages. One civilization Indus Valley is about the curse and suffering. On the other hand the second civilization Mesopotamia is about settled life and trade and some deceptions. As a reader, after reaching some chapters, I was able to dissect the story in two parts. Lost and finding. Bec...

Book Review – Shades of Pink

Title – Shades of Pink Author – Ketan Modha Genre – Romance Publisher – Kindle I have been reading romance novels so often. But this time Shades of Pink by Ketan Modha was a different experience altogether. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s about Maya, the lead character. The story is about her college days, her love story with an English Cricketer, her misfortune, about her daughter Ria, her father Vishnu and his orthodox ideologies. Broadly putting, Maya gets into Microbiology reluctantly because her father thinks that Microbiology is going to evolve in future. The author has not covered much about this career choice, but soon the love affair of Maya with an English cricketer Paul takes precedence over other things. Why and how did Maya get in touch with a cricketer and how they came to the terms to accept their affair? For that I better recommend you to read the novel on Kindle, it’s a short one. The story is focused more on love and match-making probability in ...
